We install all common domestic fence types including closeboard (featherboard), lap panel, hit-and-miss, picket, and trellis fencing. Every installation starts with setting concrete posts or repairing existing ones, fitting gravel boards to keep panels off the ground, and securing panels properly so they do not rattle or shift in the wind. Along the Sussex coast, wind loading is a real consideration, and we use heavier-duty fixings and deeper post holes than you might need further inland.

Panels rot, crack, and blow out over time. If your posts are still solid, we can replace individual panels without disturbing the rest of the fence. Rotten fence posts are the most common fencing problem we deal with. A post that has rotted at ground level can bring down an entire section of fencing, especially in high winds. We dig out old posts, set new concrete posts or treated timber posts in postcrete or concrete, and re-hang the panels. Where concrete posts have cracked or shifted, we replace those too.

Coastal Sussex gets its share of winter storms, and fencing takes the worst of it. We respond quickly to storm damage, clearing fallen panels and posts, making the boundary safe, and replacing what is broken. If insurance is involved, we provide written quotes and photos for your claim.
