Commercial & Block Maintenance Across the Sussex Coast

Reactive repairs, planned maintenance contracts and communal upkeep for managing agents, landlords, RMCs and commercial units. One person accountable for the work, from first call to final sign-off.

Fifteen Years on the Tools, Now Extending Into Commercial

For fifteen years, HP Building Services Sussex has kept homes across the Sussex coast in good repair. We turn up when we say we will, do the job properly, and leave the place clean. That approach has earned 150+ Google reviews from homeowners across Lancing, Worthing, Shoreham and the surrounding area.

We bring that same standard to managing agents, landlords, resident-run buildings and commercial property. The underlying way we work doesn't change. You still deal with one accountable person, you still get a written quote before anything starts, and the work is still finished properly rather than rushed to the next job.

Why This Matters If You Manage Property Rather Than Live In It

Managing a portfolio, a block or a commercial unit comes with a different set of problems than owning a single home. You're not just fixing something because it's broken, you're managing leaseholders, tenants, budgets and often a board or client who wants to know what's being spent and why. A contractor who's brilliant at fixing a leak but useless at explaining what happened, providing a written quote, or being reachable when something changes, ends up creating more work for you, not less.

That's the gap we close. One contractor, covering the trades a building actually needs, communicating clearly, and treating your time as something worth respecting.

One Point of Contact, Properly Resourced

How we're resourced to handle it

A fair question for anyone considering us for the first time: can one contractor actually cover a portfolio, or a block with multiple things going on at once? Harry runs every job personally and is the person you'll always speak to and quote with. For bigger jobs, or when more than one site needs attention at the same time, he brings in trusted tradesmen he's worked with before, rather than either turning work away or leaving you waiting behind someone else's job. You still get one point of contact and one person accountable for the standard of work — the difference is simply that the work itself doesn't stall because of it.

Fully insured, every job

Every job we carry out, commercial or domestic, is covered by public liability insurance. A certificate is available on request before work starts. Full detail on insurance, and what we can provide for a formal vetting process, is on our insurance and accreditation page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a separate business from your domestic building and handyman work?

No, same business, same person. We're simply extending the way we already work to managing agents, landlords and commercial clients rather than running it as something separate.

Do you only work with large managing agents, or do you take on smaller landlords and RMCs too?

Both. A single-property landlord and a managing agent with a large portfolio get exactly the same standard of quote and the same point of contact, the scale of the client doesn't change how the job's handled.

Which of your pages should I look at if I'm not sure whether I'm a landlord or a commercial property enquiry?

If in doubt, just get in touch directly, we'll point you to the right page or simply talk through what you need rather than making you self-classify first.

Can you take on a mix of work, for example a PPM contract on one building and reactive repairs on another for the same client?

Yes, several clients use us for more than one type of work across different properties, it's all coordinated through the same point of contact regardless of how it's structured.

Is there a minimum size of job or portfolio you'll take on?

No set minimum, get in touch with what you have in mind and we'll tell you honestly whether it's something we can help with.

How do I get a sense of your work before committing to anything?

Our gallery page shows completed domestic work, and our 150+ Google reviews give a sense of how we operate day to day. For commercial-specific proof, ask us directly, we're happy to talk through what we've done so far.
