Small holes from screws, picture hooks, and rawl plugs are filled and sanded smooth. Larger holes from door handles, accidental impacts, or removed fittings need a patch. We cut out the damaged section, fit a new piece of plasterboard, tape and joint it, and skim or sand to match the surrounding wall. The result is a flat, paintable surface with no visible patch lines.

Cracks in plasterboard walls typically appear at joints between sheets, around door and window frames, and at ceiling-to-wall junctions. Most are caused by normal building movement, temperature changes, or settlement. We tape, fill, and feather the repair across the crack so it disappears under paint. For recurring cracks that keep reopening, we use flexible filler or mesh tape to accommodate ongoing movement.

If a leak has stained or softened your plasterboard, the damaged section needs cutting out and replacing. We identify the extent of the water damage, remove the affected area, allow the framework to dry, and fit new plasterboard, then tape, joint, and skim to match the rest of the wall. We will not just paint over a water stain without checking the underlying condition, since damp plasterboard behind paint is a mould risk.

When larger areas of wall or ceiling need replacing — perhaps after a plumber or electrician has been in, or after a bathroom or kitchen removal — we fit new plasterboard, tape all joints, and skim the surface ready for decoration.
